Kansas City, Missouri – Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) and the KCPS Education Foundation are organizing the annual KCPS Fest 2024 to assist students and families getting ready for the new academic year. Planned for Saturday, August 3 at East High School, this drive-through event is meant to give students access to health care and necessary school materials.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., KCPS families can drive through the event whereby volunteers will provide free bags loaded with school materials, thereby assuring youngsters are ready for the next school year. The event seeks to reduce some of the financial load on households during back-to-school season and provide an environment where students may excel.
Apart from the classroom materials, KCPS Fest 2024 provides a variety of health services, which are essential for the well-being of the kids. Families can schedule vaccines, dental checkups, vision tests, sports physicals, and hearing testing by appointment. Renowned community health partners including Children’s Mercy, KCMO Health Department, Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center, Swope Health MDU, and University Health will provide these health services.
Registration for the event is a must and is open until Wednesday, July 31. Families wanting to take part are advised to register early and choose their preferred medical providers. This organization will help manage the flow of traffic, as tickets are issued in one-hour increments.

The occasion emphasizes the dedication of the community toward its young students. Every student should be ready to participate and succeed starting on the first day of classes. By providing these supplies and services, Kansas City Public Schools hopes to remove barriers to educational success and health.
Attendance is completely drive-thru to guarantee the effectiveness and safety of the event. Families are urged to arrive following all directions and signage. Those who want further information or have additional questions can get in touch with the foundation at [email protected].
