Jefferson City, Missouri – In a recent announcement from Jefferson City, Governor Mike Parson has named Mick Campbell as the new Acting Director of Missouri’s Department of Commerce and Insurance (DCI), starting January 1, 2025. Campbell, who has been the Commissioner of Finance within the same department, will take over upon the retirement of Chlora Lindley-Myers, the current Director, at the end of this year.
During the announcement, Governor Parson said he had faith in Campbell’s ability.
“We have announced that Mick Campbell will serve as acting director of the Department of Commerce and Insurance for the remainder of our administration,” Governor Parson said in a news release.
“Mick answered our call to serve as Commissioner of Finance in 2022, and we thank him for answering our call now. He has impressed us with his leadership and we are confident in his ability to lead DCI for the remainder of my time in office.”
Mick Campbell has had a varied and long career in the Department of Commerce and Insurance. Beginning in 2004, he ascended the ranks from positions including Deputy Commissioner and recently, Acting Commissioner since January 2022. Governor Parson appointed him Commissioner of Finance in June 2023; he occupied this post until his most recent one.

Native of Mount Vernon, Campbell offers a strong educational background having earned both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Administrative Management from Missouri State University. His long-standing ties to the area and comprehensive knowledge of the local business scene are considered as assets for his new position supervising state commerce and insurance sectors.
