One dead, two seriously injured in Tuesday evening shooting in Kansas City, victim identified

Kansas City, Missouri – Law enforcement officials are currently investigating a triple shooting that took place at a residence in Kansas City. Officer Alayna Gonzalez reported that the deceased victim has been identified as 23-year-old Prophet Thompson. Around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a call about a shooting in the 11700 block on Corrington Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found a group of people who directed them to a nearby house. Outside the residence, they discovered a woman, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services provided immediate assistance, rushing her to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Inside the house, officers found Thompson, who was unresponsive due to apparent gunshot injuries. They administered medical aid until paramedics arrived, but he was declared dead at the scene. A teenage boy, believed to be involved, later arrived at a hospital in critical condition. Authorities apprehended a juvenile suspect in connection with the incident.
